A drone show closes Fall Fest. Here's Parker's weekend plan.

Parker's Sept. 25-27 weekend brings Fall Fest, a drone show, football, the Wine Walk, comedy, theater and two nearby pumpkin patches.
Parker weekend plans

Fall Fest takes over O'Brien Park Saturday afternoon, with a drone show planned for 7:30 p.m. Before that, Friday brings the final Wine Walk of the season, two football games and two very different theater choices.

Friday afternoon could turn wet. Saturday is the easy outdoor day: sunny, near 81 and dry through the Fall Fest finale.

What's Open, What's Closed

Friday storms give way to a clear Saturday

Friday has a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon, with a high near 76. The chance continues before 9 p.m., then Saturday turns sunny with a high near 81.

Sunday reaches about 82 under mostly sunny skies, but southwesterly gusts could reach 29 mph. No active NWS alerts covered Parker at 6:30 a.m. Friday.

Friday

Downtown Wine Walk — 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Check-in starts behind the Parker Station office building at 19751 E. Mainstreet. Tickets are $25 plus tax before the 11 a.m. presale cutoff or $30 plus tax at the door; you must be 21 or older and show ID.

The event runs rain or shine, so take a jacket you will not mind carrying between shops. Worth it if you want a walkable downtown evening and already have a ride home.

Legend and Ponderosa kick off — 7 p.m.

Legend hosts Arapahoe at EchoPark Stadium, 11901 Newlin Gulch Blvd., while unbeaten Ponderosa visits Horizon. Lutheran opened the local football weekend Thursday with a 49-29 win over Sand Creek.

Friday's storms could affect warmups or kickoff. Worth it if you want a Parker home game at Legend; follow Ponderosa only if you are ready for the drive north.

HALWA with Amit Tandon — 7:30 p.m.

Indian comedian Amit Tandon brings his observational stand-up show HALWA to the PACE Center, 20000 Pikes Peak Ave. The show begins at 7:30 p.m.

Worth it if you want an indoor Friday plan built around stand-up rather than live music.

Saturday

So Long to Summer 5K/10K — 8 a.m.

The 10K starts at 8 a.m. and the 5K at 8:05 a.m. at Salisbury Regional Park, 11920 Motsenbocker Road. Standard registration is $50 for the 10K and $40 for the 5K; event-day entry costs another $5 if space remains.

Registered runners get breakfast, and a free kids' dash follows for children 8 and younger. Worth it if you want the weekend's quietest outdoor hours before the parks fill up.

Chaparral vs. Vista PEAK Prep — 1 p.m.

Chaparral hosts Vista PEAK Prep at 15655 Brookstone Drive. The Wolverines enter 1-3 after a 43-3 win over Smoky Hill, while Vista PEAK Prep is 0-4.

Parker Fall Fest — 4 to 7:30 p.m., free

Fall Fest fills O'Brien Park, 10795 Victorian Drive, with a new artisan market, a children's business market, carnival games, an inflatable corn maze, rock climbing, face painting, food trucks, a beer garden and live country music from The Country Music Project.

The patriotic drone show begins around 7:30 p.m., weather permitting. Sunset is 6:51, so the final hour is the one to stay for; worth it if you want Parker's biggest free fall event and can arrive before downtown parking tightens.

Brad Upton — 7:30 p.m.

Brad Upton headlines the PACE Center with Colorado comedian Stephanie McHugh opening. Tickets are listed at $39, $44 and $49.

This overlaps the Fall Fest drone show. Worth it if comedy is the destination; skip it if you want to stay downtown through the 7:30 p.m. finale.

110 Stories — Sept. 25 to 27

Lutheran High School presents the documentary play 110 Stories at The Schoolhouse, 19650 E. Mainstreet. Parker Arts lists 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. performances and $12 tickets.

The play uses firsthand accounts from Ground Zero and includes intense descriptions that may not suit younger children. Worth it if you want serious documentary theater rather than a light family show.
