Pine Drive could close as soon as Monday. Here's what else is changing in Parker.

A two-week Pine Drive closure, two budget hearings that touch your bills, a possible free-ride expansion and a new restaurant sign on Mainstreet.

Pine Drive closes between Ponderosa Drive and Lincoln Avenue as soon as Monday, Oct. 26. Douglas County crews need it shut for about two weeks to lay a new storm sewer. It reopens on Sundays.

Coming Soon

Pine Drive: closed Ponderosa to Lincoln, about two weeks

Detours run on Ponderosa Drive, Parker Road (Colorado 83) and Lincoln Avenue. Pine Lane between Pine and Dixon drives stays westbound-only, and the county says that lasts a couple of months after the closure starts.

You can still reach Sierra Middle School and AdventHealth Parker. If you drop off at Sierra, build in extra minutes the first week: the detour sends everyone onto Ponderosa and Parker Road at the same time.

The speed limit is 30 mph through the whole work zone. The $13.2 million project runs from Inspiration Drive to Lincoln Avenue and is expected to finish at the end of July 2027.

A county manager report dated Oct. 20 says "approximately one week," while the project page, updated Oct. 19, says two weeks. We're going with the project page; plan for two.

County commissioners have directed staff to plan an expansion of Link On Demand, the county's free rideshare, into southern Parker, the Pinery and the Crowfoot Valley corridor as part of the 2027 budget. It's a planning direction, not an approval, and the county says it would come with no money beyond the $6 million already planned.

Link already serves parts of Parker, plus Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree and Castle Rock. Sterling Ranch and Roxborough were approved to join later this year.
